USB wireless adapter?

My recommendation is to stay far away from usb adapters unless they are your only choice, they have pretty poor antenna and most ive used get equally poor transfer speeds

Many USB adapters have an internal/printed antenna whilst others like these are external. So are you saying that despite having the same antenna they still do not perform as well as a card, even given a comparable chip?

The system does have a PCIe slot available but I was thinking of reserving that for an additional storage controller.

Very few have a real antenna (i cant recall any offhand that do) and beyond that you are typically dealing with crappy chips and crappy build quality. Ive never seen a usb card that works as well as a pcmcia or pci
