so is one better than the other for gamepads and joysticks? is there such a thing as a converter cable that i can convert a gameport plug into a USB plug? should i shell out the extra money for USB or just take the good deals on gameport joysticks? any help would be useful...thanks!

I prefer USB for many reasons you can have lots of USB gamepads/joysticks connected at once and hotswap them in and out,one very good USB gamepad is the Thrustmaster Firestorm dual power gamepad go here for info .

Pretty sure the answer is no for that.

Thanks, i think that the Thrustmaster Firestorm looks like a pretty good buy. Any recommendations on joysticks for a flight sim? preferably under $40?

I got Microsoft Precison Pro Sidewinder (I think I hosed the name, but something to that effect) for like fifty shipped last year from egghead, it's prolly cheaper now. It's nice, four axes, eight buttons, hat switch. Does everything I need. No force feedback, but, whatever.
