I am getting cable soon (tonight/tommorow/soon!) and i wanted to know if i should use the USB port or buy a ethernet card.

Which is faster and more reliable?

Please respond with your comments... thanks!

I wouldn't use the 1.2 USB standard devices. If you were going to use USB, get the new 2.0 add-in card(s).

But, for connecting to the Internet and to other internal machines, I suggest you get either an Intel, 3Com, D-Link, or NetGear NIC. I would try to get an Intel or 3Com first. If they are too expensive (which in most cases they are), I would go for the others I mentioned.

EDIT: Sorry about that. DAMN KEYBOARD! :|:|

Unless:

1. You can not open your computer (or you need a hammer and a chisel to open it).

2. No way to find an empty PCI slot in your computer.

There is not even one reason to get USB (bedside the above).
