I had this error when I had an old setup, so I know it's not the new system. Win98 has refused to see any USB devices, and I have perpetual device errors in device manager. It won't see anything, and it says the following:
The NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2)
And when I try to fix it, nothing happens. This stems from trying to get a webcam to work a few months ago, and tried downloading a more current driver. It went from just the webcam not working to nothing USB working. WIth my new mobo, I've loaded the USB 2.0 Root Hub, but apparently the standard Root Hub needs to work, too.
I've searched microsoft's support site, but can't find anything that seems to help.
I would appreciate the advice, as I got almost everything USB, and no way to use it.
