I have a USB that i purchased that has a learning module on it. The module is an .exe file. There is also a stock-firmware-CANDY.rom file on the USB stick as well. This program requires that i have the USB inserted when I am using it. This is not one of those fancy dongle setups. It is a nondescript FAT32 USB that is around 7 GB.
I wanted to make a personal copy so that when I loan the stick out to my techs to study that we would not end up losing the entire program.
Here is the problem. I used USB image tool to back up a copy on my pc and then I restored it onto the new memory stick. Once i do that i get "please connect the USB Flash Drive and try again!" when i try to use it. The original works fine but the copy says this each time.
I also took it to my local computer store and asked them to copy it and much to my dismay we both got the same result. Am I doing something wrong or is there more to this like a protection like hard coding that is preventing me from creating a backup?
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.
