I recently purchased an IPAQ and I found out that it doesnt have any legacy port like serial or paralel. Now, my problem is, I need to connect to console port of my 2501 cisco router...... Is this possible?? anybody knows if there is such thing as USB to Serial DB9 Female adaptor ??

Thanks

palm makes one for attaching a usb cradle to a serial port, not sure if its propreitary to their hardware or not though, but its worth a try.

iPaq on it own is a USB client. As a result, no stand-alone USB can attached to it. To do some of the operations that you mention you need to use Bluetooth when it will be available!

Here are links to few iPaq gizmos retailers, take a look of what is available.

I think he is talking about the IPAQ computer not the IPAQ hand held. I don't think they mention "legacy ports" in hand held realm. I may be wrong..
A Bluetooth docking station would be rather sexy though :)

Yeah, last time I bought a Desktop (rather then to build one) was 20 years ago. The original IBM PC. Guess I forgot that they exist.

Sorry!

You could try a USB -> PS/2 adapter connected to a PS/2 -> Serial adapter. I don't know if it will work though.

There definitely are USB to serial converters out there. They're basically so you can add a serial port to a PC with USB. My friend has one hooked up to his Mac so he can use serial devices on it. Not sure what brand or anything, but look around and I'm sure you'll be able to find one :)
