Just saw this today, and I'm curious if anyone has ever used one:

CON-USB-SCSI by Xircom

I found the device from this company which says it has been using it without any problems with notebooks in Win2K. It has USB on one end and a 25-pin SCSI on the other. There's also a lame compatibility list that doesnt show for much in the realm of what I'm after - CDR and CDRW drives.

Basically - I have a friend who can't justify paying the ridiculous price for a firewire burner for his Mac G4 (no SCSI ports), and I was curious if this could be an alternative.

Even so, an interesting idea for someone who would need fast removable SCSI devices without any setup hassle and for a cheap price (only $63 retail). Pretty damn slow probably, but you can't beat the "ease" of USB.
