USB to SCSI connector

I have a SCSI Scanner and i was wondering if there would be a hugh performance lost if i got a USB to SCSI connector liek one found here: http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...rodkey=USBXchange&cat=/Product/USBXchange

I'm quite happy with the speed now, but if i can get compariable speed via USB then i might just take out the SCSI card and gain a free PCI slot for the future. What do you guys think?

I would simply get a cheap USB scanner to replace the SCSI one.

USB scanners start at around $40 - you will spend about that much for the USB converter itself.

naa i'll just keep the PCI SCSI adapter in if it comes down to just buying a new scaner.. I like this one it's nice and speedy!

USB is slower. Tops out around 2 megs or so a sec (not sure, forgot). It all depends how fast your scanner sends the info. If its more than USB can handle, then you will get slowdown if ya use USB.
