USB to PS2 adapter issues

Hello,

I am trying to free up a USB port, so I have USB to PS2 adapter that I want to use with one of my USB devices. A wired mouse works fine. However, none of others do. A wired Microsoft Ergo 4000 keyboard, a Microsoft wireless mouse, a wireless airmouse (mouse/keyboard), and a Xbox 1 controller.

Running Win7 x64.
Can the adapter work with any of these?

Afaik the issue is with the other peripherials you listed - they expect to be on USB (probably because they need the power). The wireless mice likely use some post-XP protocol that doesnt carry over ps2 either ..I dont think you can get them to work.
Your best bet is to buy a usb hub.

You most likely bought a passive adapter. A lot of older mice and keyboards that utilized USB also supported the PS/2 protocol internally and come with passive adapters to use on PS/2 ports.
