My old laptop died and the new system I have now has no printer port, today I discovered the existence of the printer port / usb adapters. The one I'm looking at is here:

I had assumed now drivers would be required, but looking at the package and description I'm not so sure. I wanna use this on Vista- will it work w/o drivers?

Thanks for the reply, I saw the description about the drivers, but was wondering if people who have experience with these things find whether they usually need drivers or not. I was hoping to get an el cheapo cable, like 5 - 15$, since printers get be had for free after rebate these days sometimes. I have 2 printers already, but like to use the old one b/c ink can be found extremely cheap for it on ebay, and since it's an HP and I can take them to Staples when the cartridge is finished and get $3 coupons (and I typically can get them in the $5 to $8 range)

If you're still using an old parallel printer it might be a good time to break down and buy a new one. Vista has limited support for older printers.
