usb to parallel printer adapter

Can anyone tell me the theory behind a usb to parallel port adapter. Better yet the schematic or pinout.

There's a USB peripheral chip in it, implementing a USB "interface" type peripheral on the USB side, and a legacy parallel interface out its other end.
