I have a HP Printer that can only hook up to my computer by USB. I want to be able to use my 25 pin parallel port on my computer to hook up my printer and not the USB port. Is there a cable made that will take my USB cable off of my printer and convert it over to a 25 pin parallel end that I can plug into the back of my computer? Could somebody provide me with a site that might have this type of cable. Thanks!

I want to be able to take my USB end of my cable that would normally plug into the computer and be able to convert it so that it will plug into the 25 pin female port on the back of my computer. Those cables look like 36 pin. They won't work.

There are tons of adapters that do the exact opposite of what you want to do. Can't find anything to do what you want, however. :(

Is there a USB hub made that will connect to the 25 pin female port on the back of my computer?

Is there a PCI or ISA card made that I could install that would have a USB port on it?

does your laptop not have a usb port? or is it already being used? if the latter, why not just get a usb hub?

Oh yea, there are PCI USB cards. You can pick one up at pretty much any computer store. Newegg has one for $12. I don't know where it is in their menu but just do a search on their site for USB and you'll see it near the top of the list.

Adding a card is going to be much cheaper than any adapter you find, if they even exist.

This is not at all possable.... sorry mate. You can not go from USB into a Parallel port.... would be nice if you could but you can't. You can go the other way. And you can also do it with serial ports. This is the reason NOT to get a parallel printer!

Any time I connect a USB device to my computer the device just freezes. This is a well documented problem with ABIT KT7 motherboards. I was thinking that using a PCI card that had a USB port on it might take care of this problem. The printer I want to buy comes with only a USB interface. This might be a way to get around the freezing up that occurs when I use USB devices. Any thoughts?
