USB to LPT1 ?????

I recently purchased a HP Officejet V40 that is USB only. The problem is that my lappy only has a printer port (no usb).

Are there any USB to LPT1 adapters out there?
 
Nope, sorry I don't think that sort of thing exists. Probably the only thing you can do is share the printer on another computer and connect to it via LAN or DCC.
 
They make the opposite of what you want - an adapter that lets you plug a parallel printer into your USB port but not the way you need it. Someone asked here a while back and a bunch of us went looking and couldn't find anything.

Do you have a free PC Card slot? You can always add a USB card.
