USB to IEEE-1284 Converter

I have a USB to IEEE-1284 Converter but it doesn't seem to work with my computer under windows 2000 lately. It did before...what should i do..
Any suggestions, I'm willing to try!

what are you connecting to the firewire?

ieee-1284 is parallel isn't it?
ieee-1394 is firewire...

What have you tried so far? Reinstalling the driver? And what peripheral are you connecting via the converter?
