USB to esata

Bought an WD ext hd with a micro USB connector, need it to connect to my direct tv dvr which is esata, suggestions?
 
But, aren't those adapter unidirectional (IE, USB port needs to hook up to a host controller with an OS and UMSC drivers, and eSATA needs to hook to a buffered SATA controller)?
