USB to audio adapter/jack?

The audio port on my PC is not working for some reason. So I'm looking for an adapter that can allow me to plug in my speakers through a USB port.

Are there good adapters out there for this?

Also my speakers are surround, with 4 speakers and a subwoofer. Can an adapter properly channel the surround sound or do they just do left-right stereo?

USB Sound Cards are a dime a dozen. Most of them are implementing various Realtek codecs (and do so poorly), but you shouldn't have a problem finding something for suitable for your needs, including 5.1.
