Hello, as the title says, I'm looking for a device to connect a USB thumb drive to a projector. The projector has: hdmi, d-sub, component(? Red/yellow/white), s-video. I figured easiest why would be an hdmi to female usb, but can't find one for the life of me.

Thanks for the help!

The easiest way is through a laptop to the projector.

It was considered, but I shoulda given more detail :3

It's for a party, and the computer owner doesn't want the computer (MacBook) sitting out in the open with so many people going to be there.

Unless otherwise stated, you need to think of the projector as a "dumb" device: video in -> video out. What's on a USB drive is not video; it's data. So you need something in between the two which decodes the data and makes photo's/videos out of it.

Like a computer. You can get a really long video cable (maybe expensive) or some sort of wireless A/V transmitter (probly expensive) if you want to keep the computer away...

There are other options though, like a DVD/BR player with usb which can decode DivX (look for the logo), or even better one of those little ARM android doobies which I don't know much about.

You could always use a Chromecast in the HDMI port and stream to it from the Macbook. Thats how id do it at least.
