Co-worker got a thumb drive.. looks like it was kicked under the desk, so the unit is all bent and stuff... any place can actually extract the data out of this ?

Since you didn't say anything about it, I'll ask.

Did you actually plug it in to see if it worked? If you did, and it didn't, there are plenty of places that could extract the data for you. How much money is your company willing to pay for that? I'll bet that data isn't worth the price.

If the connections are OK you just need to carefully straighten the connector out so it'll plug in again and it should work. I've seen some drives that look like they've been through WWIII and they still work OK.

Yes I did, does not power up at all... the connector looks like it snapped out of the main memory board, very loose.... i didn't take it apart.. i got a quote for full recovery if the CHIP isn't snapped for 300 bucks. No extras, nothing.. ill get that in writing before sending it in.. its only a gig drive and probably has 200-300meg of data

If the connector is busted you could probably pop it open and resolder the connections.
