My 512MB Cruzer shows up fine, even pops up a window. Trying to use a 4GB, it shows the green connected icon in the systray, but never appears in windows explorer (or pops up the window). The 4GB has U3, 512MB does not. Why?
This is on my PC at work, running WinXP. They had to originally unlock the USB port so I could use my 512MB. But since that works now, I would think the 4GB should.

It may well have to dio with the U3 system. Is the Cruzer's Launchpad enabled? Is your system set for Autorun?

U3

U3 is rather new technology. Older Cruzers just didn't have it because it wasn't yet invented. Any, a 512 MB flash drive is probably not big enough to hold the overhead (Launchpad software) along with a complete Windows program.

I can't get to disk mgmt since I'm not an admin. Like I said, I couldn't access my 512MB thumb drive until an admin did something.

Auto run should be on since the other one pops up.
When I plug it into my PC at home, the U3 stuff pops up, which I guess is the Launchpad. Haven't done anything with it. Should I try to disable it at home?
