USB Speakers in Linux

First post in AnandTech, I'm proud!
Anyway, I'm in Linux RedHat 7.2 and I have Microsoft DSS 80 USB speakers. They do not work!
The kernel that came with 7.2 is 2.4.7-10
I used up2date to update to the latest RedHat patch 2.4.9-31
The speakers still won't work.
Is it possible to configure the Red Hat update kernel RPM if I download the Source RPM?
I've Googled all over for the answer and tried IRC without luck.
I'm counting on you AnandTech!

I believe those speakers need lots of special consideration(drivers), more than what the most of the basic USB support and updates from Red Hat can offer. they may only work in a windows box.
