Since I want to get rid of any computer noise in my living room, I plan to put my PC in another room (maybe basement).
Distance (cablewise) will be 10-15 meters (30-45 feet).
What I want to do is pull 2 cables; monitor (either DVI og Analog) and 1 USB (2.0 is same cable as 1.1 I guess?).
Then connect a USB 2.0 hub, and attach to this the following:
Dual optical mouse / Keyboard / SoundBlaster Extigy / Sony DRU500 external DVD+R+RW-R-RW (usb2.0)/ printer / scanner / camera / USB to Ethernet adapter (usb1.1, for "networking" other comp.) / Logitech MOMO wheel / and maybe a TV-tuner (possibly usb2.0).
Does anyone have experience/comments/suggestions regarding such a setup???
I'm also thinking about; problems with cable length, CPU usage with so many USB devices running
Machine is a P4 1.6@2.4GHz, 512mb DDR, GeForce 4 ti4200, USB2.0 is add-on pci-card, 2mbit permanent connection.
Any and all advice/comments/ideas is much appreciated.
