USB Scanners and Win2K

I have a Umax 1220U which technically doesn't work in Win2K, but had been working fine. I picked up a Visioneer 4400, which is supported, for cheap at staples to check it out. All the scans were squished and yellow. Switched back to my old scanner, and still have the yellow. Any suggestions? I am thinking it may be that I have a lot of devices into the same power strip.
 
Maybe you've got a screwy ICC profile associated with your scanner. Check the scanner's properties in control panel and look under the "color management" tab. My Epson 1640 works great in w2k.
