I have an HP Scanjet 6200C and I can't get it to work. I've installed it on 4 computers already, and on all 4, the computers will not detect the scanner. I've installed the drivers and everything, but each time I try to do that, the install program tells me to upgrade my USB interface. What is this? I've tried upgrading the USB interface, but all it does is freeze my mouse and crash my comp, on all 4 computers. Any suggestions? Maybe the scanner is shot.

Well I have a similiar problem when installing my hp scnajet 4200c. When
i try to install it using the setup program on the cd it says something about my usb not responding, but i know it works fine.

So the method i use is to just plug in the scanner and let windows do it, and when it asks for a driver point it to the hp scanner cd and that's it. I think it's an issue with the setup program having trouble detecting non-intel usb chipsets, I'm using a via mobo so that would probably explain it. Hope that helps.
