USB Restart

I just built my brother a computer and he said that once he puts in the controller for his ps3 so he could get it charged the computer just shutsdown/restart. Anyone have any clue what could cause this problem? He has..

AMD 6400+
Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Motherboard
2 gbs of Crucial Ballistix Ram DDR2 1066
OCZ 600 watt stealth psu

Try a simple USB flash drive on the same USB port. If the symptoms are the same, it could be the USB Port is improperly connected to the mobo USB riser. If the symptoms does not happen with the USB Flash Drive, then it could be the PS3 controller could be messed up or overloading the USB current rating.
