USB question

My motherboard supports USB 3.0 but my outside[ front of case ] USB connector only supports USB 2.0. If I purchase a new card reader that is USB 3.0 will it be working as a 3.0?

According to the specifications here http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3894#sp you have two usb 3.0 ports on the back panel and two more headers on the mb. If you connect the new reader to one of those ports you will be fine. Please read the manual.

I was wanting to use the front connectors for convenience. Are replacement connectors available?

You can buy a connector to go from USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 but, you will be limited to USB 2.0 speeds. If you're handy you can replace the port on the front of the case with USB 3.0 port and connect it to the USB 3.0 header on the mb. If you use a USB 2.0 adapter, remember that it will not supply as much power if that is a consideration.

Ok you don't need the fan controls but I got bored searching, sure you can find what you want even cheaper.

Yes if you connect it on the mobo to usb3.0 pins (there can be present either Usb3.0 and usb2.0 together) .
