Wow its been years since I used to post around here (as "Nick"), so I do not know if any of you remember me, but I've been away from computers for a while, so now I have a pretty basic question to ask.

I recently got a new digital camera that hooks up to my computer via the USB ports, but my ports seem 'dead' for some reason. I am guessing something isn't setup right, but I have no idea where to start anymore :) When I plug in devices to the USB ports, but nothing ever seems to happen. I know the USB drivers have to be installed (which I don't think are), but when I plug in a device, shouldn't the driver installation screen come up? It doesn't, and even when I try to install them manually, it doesn't work... as it seems Windows (ME btw) doesn't think I have any USB ports. Can anybody help?

I am using an Abit KT7A mobo, and since getting it last year this is the first time using a USB device. Also, the camera manual says I need to install the "USB Mass Storage Driver", which I cannot seem to do.

Thanks for your help.

First of all update your chipset drivers. These are the known and loved VIA 4in1 drivers. 4.27 is the latest version I believe. This should install the USB root hubs. As well, make sure that your USB ports are enabled in the BIOS.
