USB problem

I have an asus av8 board and for some reason the via usb 2.0 drivers will not take. I have tried running the utility on uninstall then reinstall but when I plug in a memory stick it always gives a non2.0 message. any ideas? thanks

The drivers go in the OS - what are you using? Motherboards don't "take" drivers. If the USB ports are enabled in BIOS, and you are running XP, nothing else should be necessary

Sorry did not put it too clearly.

I have other HD's with xp pro installed and they run USB 2.0 . when I put this particular hd in ,it will not run usb 2.0 . The USB ports work but all run usb 1.0 or 1.1. I am using the same via driver package for all the HD's. When I plug in the memory stick I get a message---hi speed device plugged into non hi speed usb hub. I have tried manual install of drivers and have gotten nowhere. thank you
