Ok here's the background. I bought a soyo baybox that provides an upfront usb port and flash card readers. It connects via a pair of usb headers on the mobo. However, my computer is a dell 400sc (server) with no headers. To solve the problem, I cut the ends of the box cable and a pair of usb cables. Connected everything up and tried it out. The flash card slots work perfectly. If I plug a gamepad into the usb port that works fine. However, if I plug my sandisk usb2 memory stick, I get a device not recognized error. The stick works perfectly in other usb ports and other computers. Any ideas why?
