hmmmm.. I set up my 1.6a on my new p4b266-c last week.. and clocked it up to 2.4
it has been running fine for the past week or two

today, I went in to make some changes in my bios.. and after I saved the changes.. my system keeps freezing at the large asus p4b266-c logo..
if I disconnect my usb optical mouse, and hook up a ps2 mouse.. it works fine
but with the usb mouse.. I cant get it to boot

any ideas? is this a common problem, and I was just lucky using it for the past week?

I dont mind hunting down my usb to ps2 converter, if thats what is necessary..
kindof sucks if I cant have usb support though.. what about usb2?

It is a known problem. The usb works in most cases if you connect the peripherals after you go to windows. A pci card may help.

yea.. i just figured that out.. so I dont guess its all that big of a deal

does using a pci card make a difference

anyone know, if this would be an issue, if I pick up a usb 2 card?

you can use usb 1.1 devices on a usb 2 card, cant you?
