USB ports on monitors

Do monitors usually turn off the USB ports when it is switched off? My previous monitor did this but the Benq 3200pt I just got seems to keep the ports on, which is annoying since the ghastly glow of my mouse and game pad stay on now in the night.

I had old Dell Ultrasharps which cut power to the onboard USB hub when the screen was powered off.
 
Yeah I think this monitor keeps the hub on to facilitate USB charging, and the "always on" power button. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to turn it off.
 
My Dell cuts power to all USB hub ports except the one thats for fast charging USB devices, it stays on even when monitor is turned off.
