USB ports cause computer to restart...help!

Im running an ak31 with a 1.4 tb, and heres my problem....

Whenever I enable my USB ports, and sign on the internet my computer will freeze. I have to disable them if i want to use the internet and enable and stay off the internet if i want to use anything plugged in my usb ports.

Any possible things i could try to fix this? I wanna see what you have to say before i go and buy a PCI usb card to see if that works.

Sounds to me like your on-board USB ports are defective. I would turn them off in BIOS and use a combo USB 2.0/Firewire card in a PCI slot. Then you are ready for tomorrow's as well as today's devices.
