I am looking for a USB hub that can power 3 tablets at the same time, I have noticed some USB hubs do not provide adequate wattage for all devices... recommendations?

There are some "fast charging/BC 1.1" USB hubs available; the only one I've used that was high current was what came with my HP Touchpad. I think that one's either 2.0 or 2.5A output. That was just a 100-240VAC -> 1x USB plug though.
Any of the hubs I can find though only look to have a single high-current USB port, while the rest are just the standard 0.5A output. :\

Edit:
Ah, looks like BC 1.2 is the newest standard.
Here's some overkill - 16 ports, up to 2A each. :D
They do have some smaller things (U2H4BC07), but I don't know how much they cost, or where they can be purchased.

Not 3, but 2 ports. 2A each.

I researched this a bit and looks like virtually all USB hubs are limited to the 500mA limit and also power down when the computer goes to sleep. This normally isn't a problem because most devices just charge at a slower rate with the 500mA current. I don't plan to ever own an iPad (which uses proprietary *non-USB spec compliant* charging)... I'm looking to buy the Asus Transformer Infinity so as long as that charges I am happy.

I bought the Nu 10 port hub http://www.amazon.com/USB-2-0-Port-P.../dp/B003EHA5G0

I will also adjust my Windows 7 settings so that it leaves USB power on even during sleep mode, I hope that will work as I want my USB hub to keep providing charge even when the comp. sleeps. There are reports that this Windows 7 functionality does not work properly but we will see.

All USB hubs power down in sync with the USB port of the host computer. There are some exceptions with Targus but there are reports that they don't work.

I don't recall if my Belkin 7-port USB hub powers down when the PC does or not. I keep my PC on all the time anyways.
