usb port gone??

i use a mouse on my laptop cause i just hate the touch-pad.
So today mouse refuse to work so i said okey mouse is gone. I change port and the mouse in working okey. I plugged a usb floppy to the port and i got the message driver error. pluged it another usb and works okey.
so is it safe to say that the usb port has died!?!?!??1
