USB pen drive...

Hi guys! I'm new to anandtech.. so dont flame me too bad if i'm doing something wrong.

I'm searching for a high capacity (1GB or above) usb pen drive and was wondering the best brand and best place (most inexpensive place) to purchase them?

I think I know what you want - a 1 GB flash memory drive. There are several. Check out NewEgg, and ZipZoomFly - both good. A gig will be expensive. Calling them "pen" drives can be misleading - because that is a brand of flash memory drive. Lexar calls theirs JumpDrives - someone else uses ThumbDrive - Sony uses memory stick - but - generically they are all flash memory drives.

look for bargins either in Hot Deals forum search for usb

or look at Fatwallet, forums, hot deaks, search usb

or look at xpbargains.com under usb

deals at officemax come up fairly often if you live near an offficemax, and are wiling to drive there immediately once a deal is announced...they sell/out oos frequently on great deals.

Is there something special about the lexar? You say it is a good price. 122.00 for 512MB compared to 172.00 for 1 gig with the sandisk, and zipzoomfly also has the 512MB sandisk for 85.00???

I saw one advertised at Fry's Electronics for $199.99...I think it was Apacer.

make sure its slim, so it will fit with other plugs side by side
