Hi,

Is it possible to get USB pen drives where certain files can be added but not removed,

IE, autorun of company web site ect.

Thanks.

Not that I know of? Just stick the files on and write them as read-only?

Besides, when people get a free memory stick they want to delete your silly company material and then go back to their lives as if your company never existed, occasionally to be reminded by the pen they now use. This is how getting free stuff in the IT world works! If it were me, and I got a free USB stick from a company I'd be pleasantly surprised but if there were files on it I can't move or delete or have my own way with after I'd read your nice powerpoint presentation and company website etc etc, frankly it'd just annoy the hell out of me.

There is no evidence to support having company details on the package of a pen drive generates any business.

I am curious if content fixed on the media may produce some better results.

i would think it would produce worse results like the above post says its more of an annoyance, sorta like spam everytime you plug in your pen drive...chances are no one would use that pen drive again...

Whereas they'll think to themselves "damn where did I leave that IBM pendrive" when they lose it (using IBM as example company). And they'll see your company name any time they use it. Is that not good enough as exposure? To the people you already consider your target audience? You don't want an in-your-face ad campaign incase of the backlash that usually erupts, for example people are perfectly happy with inline banners and google ads but even the average joe hates pop-ups.
