usb or ps2 keyboard

is there any difference with these connections? im aleeady using a usb mouse and im not sure if a usb keyboard will cause a problem, i use the pc for gaming.........

Should not cause any problems. USB keyboards can be hot plugged - PS2 can't.

Only thing a PS/2 keyboard can do that a USB keyboard can't (in most PCs) is the ability to set the BIOS so that a key combo. will power on the PC.

I always use PS/2 just because I prefer a dedicated port rather than a shared one for critical functions. It's not like anyone is a fast enough typist to exceed PS/2 capability. A good idea is to get a keyboard that can use either. Harder to find universal input devices now but maybe worth the effort.

Back in the day, hard core gamers used PS2 keyboards because the idea was that it had a better response time than USB. I think this is pretty much a non-issue these days.

back in day, they didn't have native USB support but it was bridge between PS/2 and USB. Now story is different, every PC comes with 4 USB controllers (up to 8 ports) that have huge bandwidth.
