Does it make a difference as far as speed/bandwidth as to how I hook up my cable modem? I can use either my ethernet card or USB. Is one faster/better than the other?

Ethernet, you can use it with a Cable/DSL router and it's less dependant on the OS/and drivers

No difference in speed, disadvantages with going USB, would be networking, if you wanna share your cable it be much easier with ethernet....also USB can be kinda flaky, I would think Ethernet would be a more reliable way to go...IMO

I would go ethernet. You are relying on drivers that are alot more robust(network card drivers) vs. using drivers that might be newer(first version usb modem drivers)
