Sometimes when I am using my computer it will just disconnect the mouse and I have to unplug it and re connect it for it to work again. It doesn't matter what USB port it is in. the mouse is a Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 any idea why this is happening?

Sometimes USB is flaky that way. I find that a powered USB hub resolves those issues because you are then not using the system's power to run your devices.

And, it could also be a bad connection at either end of the mouse's USB cable.

Another option . . . Try a wireless mouse.

BTW - you posted the same query in the Technical Support Forum - and - double posting is frowned on by Anandtech mods. :(
