i was at the San Diego CompUSA before work today and they had these usb mouse pads in the clearance section for $4.88. i think it's a
hot deal because most of the regular compusa mouse pads there were $7+. The retail price for these were $19.99. I picked up two but there are a lot left....good luck
here's the sku btw.. 277172

At first, I was like, what the hell? "USB mouse PAD???"

But then I looked at it and I have a better idea of what it is. I like all the multimedia buttons on my keyboard, so do I need even more on my mouse pad?

Is this thing very useful?

i'd suggest getting a good ergonomic pad as opposed to these. it has some internet browing buttons on it, along with a credit card memory insert. I think you can program the buttons to go wherever you want them to point with the driver...but don't quote me since i gave the 5 i got for a penny apiece away to friends after fiddling with them for 20 minutes. And to answer your next question, best buy pennied these out a couple of weeks ago, at least locally.

this thing has been free after rebate at compusa before ($15 or $20 before rebate?). For anyone who needs it, $5 is not bad consider no rebate hassal.

i'm not sure how it works yet...still playing with it but it comes with this smart card with a chip that you slide in the mouse pad...you need to enter a password to use it...gonna mess with it some more...

TBP - I remember that, back in April when I scored a bunch of free after rebate stuff from CompUSA b&m a few months ago.

BTW here's a link to the product, note the CompUSA.com price is different than the b&m price.

Avoid the Mysmart pad at all costs. It is not even worth 50 cents.

*Trust me* on this one.

Lousiest Crappiest pad on this planet. I bought one when they had it free after rebate. I forgot to mail it, ended up paying $15 for it. The buttons are very hard to press. You need to move your mouse away from the pad, stand up and put your all your weight on your thumb to press one. The plastic cover is a bit loose and is annoying. The area to move your mouse is miniscule. The software is a resource hog, slow, buggy and annoying. Not worth the 50 cents, unless maybe you want one end of a USB cable for something.

Hmmm...Not bad. I might consider it if I didn't have one of those MS keyboards with 15+ buttons up top I never use already...
