USB mouse keeps losing signal...regardless of USB port

This is really frustrating. My USB mouse will randomly just stop working. The optical red light will go off. If I change USB ports, it will come back on, for a few minutes, then go off again. Change USB port again, will work a few minutes, and off once again. Been doing this for two weeks now.

I have tried multiple mice, different makes and brands, they ALL exhibit this behavior. I have also changed the "enabled" to "disabled" in the power options to shut off USB "whatever" to save power.

Any suggestions ? Could this be a motherboard problem?

Also, I have updated ALL USB drivers, and reinstalled everything I could think of.

I know for a fact, That all 6 mice I have tried are not bad.

I have used the USB ports on the motherboard I/O and the USB ports on the front of the case. Same thing happens.

Since it is wired, there is no mouse battery. So, . . . I suspect it is a USB port problem on the motherboard. If you have a powered USB hub, try that. My thought is your USB port's power (5vdc) is erratic.
