USB Missile Launchers!

After seeing the USB Air Darts last year, and looking all over the place I finally found some for sale. Ended up getting a "USB Missile Lancher" and a "USB Rocket Launcher" at Thinkgeek.

The USB Rocket Launcher is powered solely off of the USB Bus, and although it says works with XP, if you DL the latest version of the software it works fine for Win2k. It has a little air pump inside and can shoot the darts about 15 feet or so. But you have to click for each little incremental movement. Good fun still 🙂

The USB Missile launcher requires 3 AA batteries, and the software is fine under Win2k. It only shoots about 10 feet, though the projectiles are a bit larger. And it's spring loaded instead of air powered. The launcher itself is also a bit larger. The software does work better in that you can hold the button down and aim it more fluidly. The darts are also more consistant.

Recommended for the terminally bored

I just got the Annoy-a-tron from Thinkgeek, stuck it in a coworkers PC up out of the way.

Lets just say I was able to fix the problem after he tried for about an hour.

Thinking of ordering one. Sounds like the missile launcher moves better and launches more consistently?

we made some in chemistry class using 2 liter battles and a high pressure pump. had some really cool designs, but the highest flyer turned out to be my friends with the 12 small fins on it.
