USB Mini B to USB B?

For you amusement, here is the story.

I sold a Dell A940 all in one printer on Craig's list to somone in my local area. I accidentially gave him my mp3 player USB cable (A to Mini B) instead the printer cable (A to B). So I called him to let me know, so I can exchange the wire for him, but he insisted that he didn't get the wrong cable and the printer is working fine.

So I left with a USB A to B that I can't use while wondering how did he got the printer to work. Any inputs?

LOL! That is very close to what I have in mind.

I only gave him one USB cable. I don't even think the printer have a parallel port.
