USB Logitech Mouse For Win98 But Running on Win2K

I have a logitech USB mouse, ergonimcally designed, with a thumb button, scroll wheel,etc.. White and sea greenish in color. I don't remember the exact model number (im at work) but it was a popular mouse 3-4 years ago. I currently use it with my WIN2K box, and the drivers for it says it only supports win9X and winME. I can install the drivers, reboot, and the mouse works like a charm and it also installs the mouseware setup software so I can assign keys to the different buttons. However I have one problem. Anytime I power down the PC and remove the USB mouse, then plug back in the mouse and boot up, Win2K never detects the mouse. I have to unplug it, reinsert it, let windows find it, reinstall the drivers, reboot and Im golden again. The only thing that device manager says is "device could not start" Any help would be grateful.

Thanks,

Red Dog

The only drivers that exist for this model are Win9X drivers only. They never released Win2000/XP drivers. I will get home tonight and get the exact model to assist this thread a little better.

Thanks
