USB + LAN + FireWire card

I need to free up some slots on my boss' computer, and did some initial googling for a combo card to consolidate the lan port with the usb & fw ports. (He has an older mobo, obviously, w/out integrated ports...)

Anyone used anything like this before, and have any comments (good or bad)? At this point a new motherboard isn't an option, although I may be able to talk him into one if the combo cards don't perform very well...

Could perhaps consider getting a USB/Firewire card, and then a USB ethernet adaptor. Depending on how much network access is necessary, that may or may not be a reasonable choice.
