USB keyboard/mouse does not work and not able to goto BIOS

I built my 1st computer 2 1/2 years back with and the motherboard died.

My Rig
MSI Intel P965 Neo-F LGA 775 ATX MOB
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (not overclocked)
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4
Kingston 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
Corsair 620hx
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 (1178)
Hitachi 80 GB Harddrive (Win XP prof)
Maxtor 500 GB Harddrive (Docs and other)
Segate 750 GB Harddrive (videos)

When I google, I had the same issue as highlighted in:

Today, I installed GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard and wanted to do windows repair option. Unfortunately, when I switch on the computer, the keyboard/mouse is not recognizable and cannot enter the BIOS to change the boot order from CD/DVD. I am stuck.

After the BIOS screen, it loads up windows saying "you must activate win xp within 3 days" ... but the problem is the USB keyboard/mouse is not wroking and I do not no a way to go past that message.

Please help, what is the issue..

1.) Use a PS2 keyboard
2.) Enable "Legacy USB Support" in the BIOS.

They have adapters for keyboard/mouse for usb to ps/s in case you didnt know.
