anyone familiar with Dell 2161DS KVM switch?
i asked the guy for a USB kvm but it has only ps/2 ports.
i got the dongles for usb but they dont affect input side.
wanted to use USB keyboard
doubt i can even get a minute from delll support.
they seem to be rigid fee nags.

i guess it would need to be a smart (USB (female)in PS/2 out (male)) device.
is there one known to work?

FYI there are some mechanical keyboards like my CM Storm XT (cherry brown MX, typing + gaming) that include working PS/2 adapters. I use that with my IOGear VGA+PS/2 KVM.

The wiring and electrical signals of PS/2 and USB ports is the same; only the connector mechanical details are different. So the adapter you need is not a fancy "smart" device. It is a very simple one that looks like this:

This will connect any USB2 device to any PS/2 female port. Other than ordering it, look in local computer shops for one. Check even the used parts shops, because at one time they often were included with "new" USB keyboards and mice for users who had only PS/2 ports to use.
