USB Keyboard behind a KVM

Hello folks!

I've got the Microsoft Office Keyboard with the phat scroll wheel and other keyboard extras. I've used it for some time now, and it works perfectly.

Problem is that I got a KVM switch to chain two comps together, and while the KVM supports the Keyboard and it works behind it, the extra scroll wheel and the other buttons don't work anymore.

The KVM is the IOGear MiniView 2 port USB KVMP switch. Model # GCS1712

Any thoughts on how to enable this? Thanks!

why not just ask the vendor?

I have some older KVM switches that will not work at all with the newer usb stuff. A call to my vendor confirmed it. Unless they are lying and just wants to get rid of me🙂

try this, dont use the usb kvm. set up your system like you normally had it. make sure the keboard is running fine (buttons and all). unplug the keyboard and plug the keyboard back in while the system is running. see if the keyboard is still running fine (buttons and all). if it doesnt, then it's a problem with the software controlling the extra features.
