USB keyboard and mouse not recognized in bootloader

So currently I have a usb wireless mouse/keyboard combo. It is recognized by the bios, inside of windows xp and inside of ubuntu but for some reason at the bootloader screen where i pick which os it is not recognized any way I can fix this?
 
I found on one of my machines, I had to enable keyboard emulation or some-such in the BIOS for grub to recognize it. Perhaps you need to look for something similar there?
