I'm not sure if you'd call it a jacket, but some protective covering on my USB port is stuck there. The white piece of plastic I'm talking about is jammed into the socket so far that I can't get it out. I think the purpose of it is to prevent bending of the connectors during shipping, but I also think it was inserted in upside down. Is there some way to push/pull the thing out without wrecking the USB port? There is also a USB port sitting on top of it, so I don't want that damaged, either.

Pictures would be nice. Weird situation. USB ports are pretty sturdy so I wouldn't be too worried.

Update:
I'm not sure if the thing is stuck upside-down anymore. I think it might've just been pushed in really deep. I'd post a picture if I had a place to host it, and if my digital camera could get a good angle at the bottom of my case. Then again, I could tip it onto its side for the photo.

Really, though. The little piece of plastic is so snugly fit in there that I can't use conventional pliers (sp?) to even clamp onto it.

You might employ the same strategy as the guy who got a stuck disk out of his floppy drive by squirting it full of melted butter with a turkey baster.
