I don't know if i accidently turned off a windows or bios option, but my usb ports arn't plug n play. If I reboot it detects the hardware. Anyone have a solution?

USB is plug & play. What OS are you running?

sorry... i'm running windows xp.

Is there any way that I could have disabled the plug n play feature? It works if I reboot the computer...

thanks.

are you sure xp isn't turning off the usb port to save power?
have a look in device manager usb controllers>usb root hub>properties>power management & uncheck the box!

What chipset do you have? I've heard that certain VIA boards have issues with USB at times.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your system.
